Relaxation time mapping technique development improves disease detectability

چکیده
Background Relaxation time mapping is increasingly important for myocardial tissue characterization and potentially offers a quantitative descriptor of occult or heterogeneous myocardial disease. Recent techniques that reduce motion sensitivity, image artifacts and correct for elevated heart rates (HR) have made substantial advances in map accuracy and precision, but it is unclear how these improvements quantitatively lead to better disease detection. We used T1rho maps from normal subjects to generate variance-matched Monte Carlo data and retrospectively analyzed the effect that incremental improvements in mapping technology have on disease detectability.

Security-aware register placement to hinder malicious hardware updating and improve Trojan detectability
Nowadays, bulk of the designers prefer to outsource some parts of their design and fabrication process to the third-part companies due to the reliability problems, manufacturing cost and time-to-market limitations. In this situation, there are a lot of opportunities for malicious alterations by the off-shore companies. In this paper, we proposed a new placement algorithm that hinders the hardwa...
متن کاملExercise-induced muscle activities of the trunk: detectability of the slight impact using muscle functional MRI
Introduction Exercise-induced muscle activity is essential in sports medicine and rehabilitation medicine, especially for the trunk muscle. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) can evaluate muscle activity; transverse relaxation time (T2) of exercised muscle increases compared to that of rested muscle [1]. Previous studies have proposed the muscle functional magnetic resonance imaging (mfMRI) [2, 3...

متن کاملCarr-Purcell-Meibom-Gill T2 mapping of prostate at 3 T
Introduction In clinical MR examinations of the prostate, a multiparametric approach is becoming standard procedure, where data acquisition includes T1and T2-weighted images, quantitative measurement of the apparent diffusion coefficient (ADC) of water, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI following Gd-DTPA administration and measurement of the Cho/Cit ratio by chemical shift imaging. The combination ...
متن کاملQuantitative Assessment of the T2 Relaxation Time of the Gluteus Muscles in Children with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy: a Comparative Study Before and After Steroid Treatment
OBJECTIVE To determine the feasibility of using T2 mapping as a quantitative method to longitudinally follow the disease activity in children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) who are treated with steroids. MATERIALS AND METHODS ELEVEN BOYS WITH DMD (AGE RANGE: 5-14 years) underwent evaluation with the clinical functional score (CFS), and conventional pelvic MRI and T2 mapping before and...
